Animated showcases are prepared faster
Before a GIF or video is processed, the site now asks what matters more:
- Standard — several times faster, the quality difference is hard to see.
- Maximum quality — squeezes the best picture right up to 5 MB, but takes longer.
Still pictures need no choice: they already fit the limit.
Only what you need in the ZIP
By default the ZIP holds only the files for Steam. The whole-showcase original and the DeviantArt preview are now switches in Quality and format, which makes processing noticeably faster.
Chroma key for a backdrop of any colour
- Characters are cut out from green, blue, white, black, grey or any other solid backdrop.
- White eyes and highlights on white, black outlines on black no longer disappear.
- The backdrop between hair strands and arms is removed too.
- GIFs and videos no longer flicker, and the character keeps its size from frame to frame.
- In the Character tab the preview shows the cut-out right away. You can also pick the backdrop colour yourself.
Create a design is easier to use
- Pick a Steam background and a showcase type, and the height fits the background by itself. If you make the showcase longer by hand, your length stays.
- The whole profile background is shown around the canvas with Steam's profile column, like on a real page.
- The parts of the showcase are separated by black bars like on Steam, and the showcase types have clear names.
When something goes wrong
If a file does not fit, the site explains what happened and what to do. If the problem is on our side, a "Tell the developer" button sends us a report with the details.
We also removed outdated hints and made the processing tabs smoother.
