Which one do I have?
In Steam open your profile → Edit Profile → Featured Showcase and look at the showcase name:
- Workshop Showcase Workshop
- Featured Artwork Showcase Featured
- Artwork Showcase Artwork Split
No showcase yet? Pick one there first; Steam unlocks showcases from profile level 10.
3Style it
Optional. Everything you change here appears on the preview right away.
Free plan: the ShowcaseMaker mark is added automatically. With Pro you can use your own text or turn it off.
Font, size and opacity
Quality and formatFor experienced users. The defaults already fit Steam.
Showcase preview
The selected showcase layout is shown directly on the frame. For video/GIF the first frame is used; drag the watermark to set its position.
4Prepare the Steam files
Character backdrop
What is behind the character in its file? We remove it, the background stays.
Still files give a PNG, a GIF or video in either file gives a GIF. Then cut it for Steam in Process.
What to save
Download only what you are allowed to use. For a Steam showcase 3–8 seconds of video are enough: shorter files are smaller and sharper.
Convert to
A copy is made, the original is not changed. A GIF is fitted under Steam's 5 MB; a video becomes silent.
What is in the file?
It runs on a GPU and takes 1–3 minutes, longer for video. You can close the tab: the result waits in Jobs and in My results.
GIF preview plays normally; the selected fragment is applied when processing starts.
How should it loop?
The original is not changed. Free once a week with an account, without limits with Pro.
What is HEX 21?
Steam checks the last byte of an uploaded artwork. For showcase files it has to be 0x21.
This tool changes only that byte. The picture, its size and its quality stay the same.
Files made in Process and in Rows and squares already have it. Use this for files made elsewhere.

After Process, unpack the ZIP downloaded automatically — those are your files.

Step-by-step
- Run Process and unpack the automatically downloaded ZIP
- Click «Open Steam page»
- Click «Copy code»
- On Steam: F12 → Console → Ctrl+V → Enter
- Upload files in the order listed above
Upload without console setup
Choose a showcase type, then open file selection for automatic upload or use the manual Steam handoff.
- Choose one of the three showcase types below.
- Automatic: select files in the extension and start the queue.
- Manual: open Steam and choose the files yourself.
Automatic upload selects files inside the extension. Manual upload lets you choose them on Steam.

How it works
- Add a picture or GIF
Any size. Drag and zoom it under the 5:1 window to choose what the squares show.
- Style the tiles
Pick a frame (line, double, corners, neon or an animated one), an effect, or one of the quick looks.
- Download
Five 150×150 files, PNG or synced GIFs, with the HEX 21 ending. Up to three rows at once.
What you get
- Animated frames
RGB, comet, pulse and dashes, drawn as whole cycles so the GIF loops without a jump.
- Effects from the design studio
Overlay effects for the squares or for the whole strip.
- Quick looks
Ready combinations of frame and effect in one click.
Questions and answers
Will I get PNG or GIF?
A still picture with a still frame gives PNG files. Any animation (a GIF, an animated frame or an effect) gives five synced GIFs.
Can I make several rows?
Yes, up to three rows, each with its own picture and crop.
Is there a watermark?
Not on the five squares. Free accounts get it only on the optional preview picture.
