How to animate a picture for your Steam profile
A still picture can become a living showcase: the camera drifts, petals fall between the layers, hair moves, a frame glows. Showcase Maker makes the animation and cuts it into Steam files that loop seamlessly and stay under 5 MB.
Step by step
- Add your picture
Open Showcase Maker (the “Process” tool), add a PNG or JPG and choose the showcase type: Workshop, Featured Artwork or Artwork.
- Switch on Depth (3D effect)
In “Depth (3D effect)” pick a look: snowfall, sakura, rainy night, starry night or a living portrait. The site finds the depth of the picture by itself, so particles fly between the character and the background. It is free.
- Or add an animated frame
In the frame picker choose an animated style (neon, RGB, comet and others). A still picture with an animated frame becomes a 4-second loop.
- Or ask the AI
Pro accounts can try “AI animation” (beta): describe the motion, for example “hair and breathing”, and get a 5-second clip to cut for Steam.
- Download and upload
Press the main button, download the ZIP and upload the parts to Steam in order, or with the extension.
Common questions
Will the GIF fit the 5 MB limit?
Yes. Every Steam file is fitted under 5 MB and gets the ending byte Steam needs.
Does the loop jump at the end?
No. Depth and frame animations are calculated as whole cycles, so the last frame flows into the first.
I already have a video or GIF
