How to make a showcase on your Steam profile
Showcases are the blocks under your name on a Steam profile. Some fill themselves from your games, others take your own artwork, GIFs or text. Here is how to switch one on and make it look designed.
Step by step
- Reach Steam level 10
The first showcase slot opens at Steam level 10 and higher levels add more slots. Your level is shown on your profile next to your name.
- Open the showcase settings
Go to your profile → Edit Profile → Featured Showcase. Click the drop-down to see every showcase type Steam offers.
- Choose the type
For a picture across the profile pick “Workshop Showcase” (five panels), “Featured Artwork Showcase” (one large picture) or “Artwork Showcase” (picture + side panel). For text pick “Custom Info Box”, for a word made of icons “Achievement Showcase”.
- Prepare the content
In Showcase Maker add a picture, GIF or video, choose the same showcase type and download the ZIP. For text, open “Text showcases” and copy a template.
- Upload and select
Upload the files to Steam as artwork (the guides below show it step by step, or let the extension do it), then select them in the showcase in order and press Save.
Common questions
Why don’t I see the Featured Showcase section?
Your Steam level is below 10. You can still change the background, avatar and frame.
Which showcase gives the biggest picture?
Five Workshop panels cut from one picture give the widest artwork; a long Workshop showcase gives the tallest.
Can a showcase be animated?
Yes. Artwork and Workshop showcases play GIFs. Showcase Maker keeps every file under the 5 MB Steam limit.
